About Fossil Creek:Hiking: # 154 Flume Trail

Distance : 4 miles
Hiking Time: 2 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Signed : Yes
Marked trailhead: Yes
Season of use: Spring , summer and fall
Trail condition: Most of it good
Access roads: good
Use restrictions: No motorized or mechanical equipment including trail bikes. Mountain bikes are permitted on the road, but not in the wilderness area. From the parking area near the Irving Power Plant an old jeep road follows the moderately sloped flume to the springs. The first half mile leads to the level of the flume road. Please do not walk on the flume which follows the trail to the springs. If you have two cars, one can be parked at the beginning of each trail (upper #98 and flume #154) so it is not necessary to return over the same trail. If you go in via the upper trail and out by the flume trail, your hike will be generally downhill and much easier than in the reverse direction.
